Not the weekend we had planned....

Friday afternoon Justin made it home just like planned.  I would have been at the airport waiting on him had traffic not be at a dead stand still on I-85!!  Once again...I braved the interstate by myself with Emma & Evan.  I-385 wasn't bad at all...can't say the same for the rest of the trip.  We picked Justin up and by the time we got back into the area we are familiar with in Greenville...it was time for supper.  We ate real quick and decided we would try the Catfish Festival.  The closer we got to Ware Shoals...the sleepier our two little munchkins became and we decided to head on home.  We got here about 8:30.  They had to have baths because we were heading to the zoo Saturday morning.  This was an awful bath time.  They were sleepy and did NOT want to take a bath.  Anyway...we survived and they were out in no time.  They sleep all night without making a peep!  We were supposed to be at Lauren & Brian's at 9:30 Saturday morning.  I got up and showered like normal and thought I would lay back down for a while.  We woke up at 8:30!  Talk about rushing!  Emma & Evan were both still asleep!  That NEVER happens anymore!!  We made it to Lauren's about 9:45 and believe it for not they were ready and waiting for us.  We loaded up and headed to Columbia.  By the time we got to the Zoo...there were NO parking places and the line to just get in the gate was almost as long as the parking lot.  We decided to go ahead and eat lunch and come back to see if any people had left.  When we came back they were turning people around and wouldn't even let us in.  Apparently every one else thought this would be a great weekend to go to the zoo.  We rode all the way to Columbia to eat at Zaxby's!   We decided to stop by the Sportsman Warehouse and Babies-R-Us before heading home.  It was definitely a disappointment but we got to spend some time with great friends!  We decided to head over to the Catfish festival Saturday night.  Katie & Matt met us there.  We rode a couple rides.  The first was the Carousel.  I knew Emma wouldn't be a fan of the moving animals but we figured Evan would.  Emma & I sat behind Evan & Justin in a car that didn't move.  Great idea because after it started and Evan wasn't a fan of the moving horse...Justin just took him off the horse and sat down beside us.  Here is a picture of that ride:

Then, we rode a little train.  Me & Justin had a hard time getting in and out of this train because we were WAY too big...but it was worth it because Emma & Evan liked this a whole lot more.  The picture is horrible of me and Justin and you can tell we had to lean over most of the time because we were too tall...but this was more their speed.

Of course before we left we had to get a funnel cake.  Emma & Evan LOVED the funnel cake but so do Justin and I...so they get that honest!!  We went to church this morning and to my mom's for lunch like always.  Justin finally spread out the sand Marty gave us and we decided we needed more and that we will just put sand around their entire play yard.  That is a work in progress...so pictures will have to come later.  Justin finally uncovered the pool and it isn't near as bad as it has been in the past.  Hopefully by next weekend...it will be swimmable!!  Justin is out on the lake now putting out jugs and my dryer just went off...so that is my calling to get off the computer..  Hope you guys enjoy your Memorial Day and that you take a few minutes to honor those who fought for our Freedom and lost their lives, the ones who survived, and the ones currently serving!  It is my prayer that God will protect these people and truly let them know how thankful we are!!  On a side note...Jeremy Pileggi called Justin this week.  He's doing good and it was great to hear from him.  He's definitely one we are keeping in our daily prayers!!  Happy Memorial Day!!
