A little Halloween fun...

Well, we are officially in Halloween/ pumpkin mode!  Let me back up a minute before I start sharing pictures of my sweeties.  This past Friday, me & Justin set out early in the morning to get our yard in shape.  We dropped Emma & Evan off at school at about 8:00.  We headed to Greenwood for breakfast, a few supplies from Wal-Mart and to get our first truck load of mulch.  Then it was time to get to work.  And work we did.  All of our flowers beds are now edged, free of weeds, and have a new layer of mulch!  The front porch floor has now been painted to match the steps I painted back at the beginning of summer, the rocking chairs have been painted, the fence line and the playground have been sprayed to kill weeds...and as of Saturday morning...I couldn't move! I even have blisters.  I am not a fan of physical labor...but our yard looks MUCH better!  Friday night, we headed to the Mexican restaurant for supper with the Goff's and then onto our first football game with E&E.  It was actually our second one but they were so little the first time they didn't even get out of their strollers.  So, that time doesn't really count!  It was freezing cold but they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  They played and played.  And it showed because Emma slept all night in her own bed without making a peep.  Evan woke up at some point in the night and came in our room...but hey that is the norm anymore!  Saturday, Justin went hunting and we did some things around the house.  Saturday afternoon...we headed to our first ever dress up party.  It was Dalton's 4th birthday.  Of course I dressed my sweeties in their cute little costumes and off we went.

Don't you think this is the cutest little cowboy and cowgirl ever??  I sure do!

And then one shot I took at the party.  Emma had taken Evan's gun & hat...but I don't really think he cared!  Sweet sweet babies!

After the party, we headed over to the Babb's to celebrate the finalizing of sweet Laney's adoption!  We had to wait until Matt's brother and his family could come into town to celebrate!  We had a great time socializing with them and celebrating Laney!  We are so excited to "officially" have her in our family...but to us...she's been ours from the beginning!  We are so grateful that God chose her especially for us!!  Emma & Evan had a great time playing with Gray!  Once we finally got them to stop calling her "that girl".  I think she loved playing with them just as much!  Then, today we had our annual pumpkin carving at Justin's moms with all her sisters and their families.  It was so HOT outside today.  We just carved a "T" in our pumpkin this year but they had fun cleaning it out!

And here is Evan trying to show off the finished product.  Not to bad for Justin to have free-handed this and carved it in like 5 minutes!

I have to share this picture.  It was going on like 2:30 and E&E were beyond tired...so they just decided to lay down while Justin carved.  We went to the early service at church...so it was an early morning and they were ready for nap time.  They both fell asleep on the way home.

So, that it is pretty much it for our weekend!  We have a couple Halloween events planned for Friday.  So, you might have to see some more pictures of my cute little cowboy & cowgirl!

Just A Little Tired..

Well, the hubby is finally getting to watch the Clemson game from yesterday, my two sweeties are snoozing in their rooms, and our house is somewhat back in order...so it's blogging time for this momma!  Well, we went to the pageant last Monday.  It was totally different from what it use to be!  I actually ran into a girl that was in high school with me in KMart this week and we ended up talking about the pageant.  I think she actually won when we were seniors and she couldn't believe the changes either!  Three of the four grades didn't even have enough people wanting to participate to even have try-outs.  There were two freshman, three sophomores, three seniors, and then probably six seniors.  I can't remember.  The seniors had to do an on-stage interview...that made me nervous for them!  They don't do a talent anymore.  It was still fun to watch!  We all chose who we thought would be the winners for each grade and I was right on every single one!  I should be a pageant judge!  JK...I wouldn't want that job for anything!!  Thursday we attempted the softball game.  It went about like I was expecting.  Emma & Evan had no interest in sitting on the bleachers watching the game.  Bennett also attended this game...so we played on the playground that majority of the time.  We only made about 500 trips to the bathroom in the less than 1 hour that we were there...so that took up a good bit of our time as well.  It was a fun experience but that will probably be something we hold off on doing again until next year! :)  Saturday morning we headed to Warren's birthday party at Jumping Jax.  Emma & Evan loved it.  They played and played.  Then, we rushed home after a quick trip to Chick-fil-A to hopefully get some sort of nap before heading to Easton's party.  Thankfully it was at Marty & Nancy's house which is right next door.  Evan slept about an hour and Emma maybe 30 minutes.  Not nearly enough time...but it was alright.  So, we headed over to the construction party and guess what Kasey had...a painting station.  We weren't dressed for a mess but since we had on summer clothes that we probably won't be wearing anymore this year...it didn't really matter that they got filthy...other than the red paint in Emma's hair.  I was a little worried that may not come out!  However...it did make me think we picked the best year to have a painting party!  All the kids E&E's age loved the painting.

Before I go on to the rest of our day...I am going to share one little sneak peek at E&E's party progress.  I know it is almost a month before their birthday party...but yes I already have most of their party stuff done.  I finished their party favors this week and I have to share a picture.  They are the cutest little things!

They will look even cuter on our favors table with the sign Justin is making me!

Okay...so back to our weekend... After Easton's party we rushed home to take baths and head over to the Burke's for the Sunday school party. We played some more, ate hot dogs, made smores, and after dark went on a hay ride through the woods around their property!  It was such a fun night.   As soon as we got home and got baths E&E were out and slept almost 10 hours without making a peep!  I had to wake them up this morning to get them ready for church.  So, after church...we headed to Anderson with my family to Denver Downs.  We ate lunch on the way and got to the pumpkin patch about 2:00.  It was PACKED!!  There were people everywhere.  We saw several other 96/Greenwood families that we knew.  Emma & Evan played and played some more.  I even did the big slide with them and it was fun!  After we got home tonight, we ate supper, got E&E bathed, and in the bed early because two days with hardly no naps don't make for very happy campers!  So, that is the reason I am just a little tired.  I still have probably 4 loads of laundry waiting on my bed to be folded.   It may get done tonight and it may just wait until tomorrow!  So, here are a few pictures from our pumpkin patch trip!  I took a good many more on Alison's camera so I may share more later!

Family photo before the fun began!

Sweet Reid just chillin!

The jumping pillow.  I think this was one of their favorite things!

Waiting in line for the hayride!

Evan throwing the football!

We also petted the animals, climbed on the hay bales, played in the corn pit, played on the tractors, and tried to make it to the pig races but they were over before we got there.  Even though our weekend was super packed...we had fun times spending time with our family!  E&E won't be little long,,,so we need to make the best of it while we can!  Hope you all have a great week!  Our weekly plans include bible study, a day off Friday to work in our yard, a football game, another birthday party, two family gatherings...and I'm sure a little hunting! :)

Where have I been???

I am sure everyone is wondering what has been going on with the Turner's! I have MIA from the blogging world.  Well, the past few weeks have been eventful!  Both Emma & Evan had what we can only guess was a virus. Thankfully momma and daddy didn't catch whatever it was they had.  We have been to Jumping Jax with friends, we have been to Cambridge Park several times to play, we celebrated Patton and Bennett's birthday's, my car has been in the shop for over a week (being a 1 car family isn't fun!!) We've had softball games, bible studies, FCA events, Soup Kitchen events, Laney's adoption was finalized!  We got haircuts, we decorated for fall, we went to yard sales, we went to a family reunion & we took birthday pictures (they are super cute...can't wait to share them!!).  Daddy & Evan have been to the woods twice to plant food plots and we've watched a lot of football.  Birthday invitations have been ordered and almost all of the little details for the "Art Party" have been finalized! Justin's cousin lost her battle with cancer last week so we attended her funeral/celebration of life and also got to celebrate with the Morris family today in that Mrs. Laurie is now cancer free!   I'm sure if I think hard enough...I could probably go on  a while longer about our lives.  But, I won't! :)  I have been working away on my new Silhouette Cameo machine!  I love it!!  I started off with a simple little project!  I have containers in E&E's bathroom for their stuff so I decided to put their name on them.  I think it turned out good.

Then, I made name stickers for all the aprons the kids will wear at E&E's party.  I don't have a picture of that because I want to save those pictures for the birthday party post!  I am in the process of making Laney & Reid Halloween presents.  I will share a picture of that because I have already shown Katie & Alison.

I can't keep cuteness to myself!  I have really impressed myself lately with being crafty!  So, here are a few other pictures I have taken over the last few weeks.  Sorry...but its all I have!
Getting off early means we have the play grounds almost to ourselves!!

Some of my fall decorations that don't seem to stay where I put them.  Emma & Evan have the best time moving the little scarecrows and my flowers all around!

Sweet baby Reid came to visit!  I keep telling Alison...he's to pretty to be a boy!  He looks like a baby doll!  PRECIOUS!!!

This next week will be just about as crazy as the last few have been!  We plan to go to Denver Downs pumpkin patch tomorrow afternoon.  I hope my car will be ready Monday!  We are going to the 96 Beauty Pageant Monday night.  Justin has an early ball game Thursday so we are contemplating taking Emma & Evan.  Saturday we have two more birthday parties and our Sunday School class annual cookout, bon fire, & hayride.  I think between now and the end of the year we might have two weekends that we don't already have something planned.  It is crazy how busy life can be!  We are truly enjoying Our Faithful Journey!
