2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Well, this is my third attempt at writing this blog.  Between my allergy medicine that makes me extremely tired and a busy life...I have fallen asleep the last two nights trying to work on this blog!  It's happening tonight though!  Last weekend we had our 2nd annual Easter Egg Hunt. The weather was perfect and I think everyone had a good time.  Here are a few snap shots Justin took!

Daisy even came to the Easter Egg Hunt.  She did really good with all the little kids wanting to pet her!

Katie did a wonderful job on the food!  Chef Katie is what we should call her!! :)

And they were off...

Patton is working away!

Bennett looking for some eggs!

Abi is inspecting what is in her bag!

Evie & Easton in action!

Brantley found one!

Emma found the chocolate in her eggs!

Easton checking out what was in his egg!

Colby doing the same thing!  I told Justin not to put candy in those eggs!

Look at the chocolate mouth!  She definitely loves candy!

Making good use of MaMa & PaPa's new swing...even if it wasn't put up yet!

Emma Grace was thinking next year I get to join in on the fun!

My sweet pea eating his grits! He actually looks like he is about to start preaching! :)

Playing with Daisy!

And again!  Evan LOVES Daisy!

Those were just a few of the pictures.  Doesn't it look like it was fun???  Saturday afternoon we spread our last truckload of mulch and Justin finally got the hand rails up on the front porch.  I will have to take a picture once we are finished!  We are wanting to paint the whole porch again...rails and flooring but we need to pressure wash the house first and get rid of all that pollen.  We are trying to work that in our schedule...plus we have two pallets of flooring sitting in our garage that needs to be put down!  I am thinking Memorial Day weekend might be a perfect LONG weekend to work on that.  I was hoping to have a cookout that weekend but we'll see!  Our plans for this weekend are almost complete.  Evan is so excited  I have asked him several times what we are going to do this weekend and he tells me about all the animals he plans to see!  Looks like we are going to have perfect weather!  I have to make a confession!  I did something this week that I swore I would NEVER do!  I bought Emma & Evan book bags that have a leash! I absolutely HATE seeing children on leashes...but I think it will be much easier than fighting them all day!  They can't sit in their strollers and see the animals and I don't want to try to constantly make them hold our hands...so this was the only solution!  Granted they are book bags and not those stuffed animals that you see most kids wearing!  And they can carry their own drink, snacks, and diapers!  So...when I post pictures next week just be aware that I still HATE the leashes but that Emma & Evan were able to walk by themselves and me still have control over them!  Teacher appreciation week is next week and I am already working on our teacher gifts.  I found them on Pinterest!  I can't wait to share them with you next week after we give them to our teacher!  Just tonight as I was asking Emma & Evan who loved them...Evan's first response was Jesus.  Emma's response was "teacher"...which is what she calls her teacher.  Not the answers I was looking for...but they were both correct!  We appreciate their little teachers so much for all they are doing in helping Emma & Evan grow not only mentally & physically but also spiritually!!  Well, the dishes are calling my name and the dryer buzzer just went off so housework needs to be done!  I'll be back soon with our weekend update from Atlanta!  Hope everyone has a good rest of the week and that you along with me are thanking God that bad weather dodged us today!!  Good night!!

Happy Wednesday

We've had a busy day today!  Not only were Emma & Evan busy...this momma was busy too!  Today is Administrative Professionals Day...aka...Secretary's Day!  They just tried to change the name to make it sound better.  Regardless of the name...it is a day where the admin girls at work are celebrated!  Each year, the guys at the office take us to lunch at the Country Club and get us a gift. Then, Mrs. Gail gives us in the accounting room a gift from her.  Remember the concert was our gift from her this year.  The guys bought us all new garden flags and poles.  We also had cake this morning because it was Mikal's birthday.  Every time one of the girls has a birthday we meet up front at 9:30 for cake.  It was basically a day of celebrating...and eating.  That is my kind of day!! :)  So, Emma & Evan were pretty busy too.  Katie and my mom took them to the strawberry patch in Due West.  From the pictures...I think they had a good time.  Katie said they did really good picking the strawberries.  She told them to only pick the red ones and they did.  However, she said once Emma squished one in her hand she was done with picking the strawberries.  She held the basket but she didn't want to pick them anymore!  Here are the couple pictures Katie sent me.

After leaving the strawberry patch...they got lunch from Chick-Fil-A and went over to the park at Connie Maxwell for a picnic and to play.  Katie didn't take any pictures there so I didn't get to see what they did.  She said they played and played.  I know once they called me and were heading home Evan was already knocked out!  Doesn't take much to wear him out though!  I know they had a great time with Aunt Katie & MaMa!  That was our Wednesday!  Now only two more days and it's the weekend!  The next update will be our Easter Egg Hunt!  Several people aren't getting to come because of other obligations but we hope it will be a good time anyway!  I am loving these long spring days!  Oh yeah...I scheduled Emma & Evan swimming lessons for this summer.  A friend of mine's cousin is going to teach them this summer and has offered to teach Emma & Evan!  I was going to schedule a time with Ms. Dru in Ware Shoals...the lady everyone takes from...but this will work much better with mine & Justin's schedule.  So, that will be exciting!! They will be ready once we open up our pool!  :)

Easter...part #2

We started our day off with reading the Easter story.  My mom bought them the neatest little book telling the Easter story in their terms.  Then, we ate breakfast and decided to introduce Daisy!  I made Emma & Evan close their eyes and not peek until Justin came back inside.  Here we are meeting Daisy...
Here they are with their eyes closed waiting...

And surprise.  Evan was thrilled Emma was not so sure!!

Evan immediately wanted to hold her.  She did really good in such a crazy/loud environment!

Emma was just kidding when she said "I hold it!"
Oh yeah...I have to add this!  When we were showing Daisy to Evan and telling him her name...he said..."That's not Daisy...it's a bunny!"  He thinks anyone named Daisy should be a duck! :)

Then, we got dressed and headed to church.  It was a great service as we celebrated our risen Lord.  This week had been a sad one as we reflected on a high classmate of ours who tragically lost their child.  As we were talking about them and their situation one night and how hard this weekend was going to for them...I was reminded that God willingly gave his son for us!  We as humans came imagine actually losing a child but God sent his son here for that purpose only...to die for our sins!  What an awesome God we serve!!  Here are our yearly Easter pictures!!
My sweet little family!!

And the family shot!  We needed an extra hand so MaMa & PaPa can join in!!

And of course...the sister picture!!

The Easter bunny stopped by MaMa & PaPa's and left some things for E&E!!

While we were waiting for lunch to finish cooking...MaMa had hid some eggs in the living room.  Here are E&E one that little egg hunt!

And after lunch...we decided to open Evan's new glove and ball set.  I had to share this picture.  Who is this cool kid with his glove and shades on.  Other than being shirtless...he is ready for a ball game!
We then headed to Justin's mom's family annual Easter Egg Hunt.  My phone died at while we were at Momma's ...so no pictures from that Easter Egg Hunt!  E&E did great though even with our only 10 minute nap!  Needless to say...bedtime came early tonight!  So, that was our fun-filled weekend!!  Plans are being made as you read for our last Easter Egg Hunt next weekend.  I was REAL late getting the invites our and several people already have plans!  No worries though.  We will have fun with the ones who can make it.  This week is spring break.  We had planned to start potting training but we are putting it off until after our Atlanta trip.  I didn't really want Janice or my mom having to clean up pee & poop all week!  I'm off two afternoons to spend time with them.  Wednesday...Katie is taking E&E to the strawberry patch to pick strawberries.  They have plans to go to the park and out for lunch too.  That should be a fun day!  Hope you guys enjoy your week off.  Looks like it is going to be great weather.  For the rest of us...it's back to work tomorrow so I better be getting in the bed!  Good night!!!

Easter...Part #1

This blog is going to have to be broken up in two part because it is going to be long!  I have already downloaded 40 pictures and that was after I deleted some!! :)  Our Easter celebrating started on Wednesday with an Easter Egg Hunt at Emma & Evan's school.  I had volunteered to help with the Thursday party so I didn't attend the one on Wednesday.  So, Thursday...we headed to Learning Express about 11:00.  Justin was off that day so he met me at their school to help with the egg hunt.  Here are a few pictures from that party...

My two sweeties ready for their party with their bunny shirts!  Yeah...that monogram machine is coming in handy!!

Lunchtime before the egg hunting begins!!

Mrs. Melissa getting everyone together!

Mrs. Alison telling them to go and Daddy with his two kiddos!

Emma & Evan LOVED finding the eggs this year.  It was much funner than last year!!

And a couple more pictures!!

After the hunt was over we went through our eggs in the car waiting on MaMa.   It was such a fun time!

Friday, we spent the day working in the yard finally getting our border grass planted and we got our first truck load of mulch.  Poor Justin worked out in the rain all afternoon!  It is really starting to look so much better.  I haven't taken any pictures.  Hopefully this week and I am going to get my last two plants and some more border grass from Katie.  Then, we are going to get one more load of mulch and it should be finished.  BUT we still have to paint the porch and add the hand rails coming down the stairs.  Those were supposed to be added when the other railings were...but we're working on it!  Friday night I went to town trying to find me an Easter dress and Justin went to Lowe's to get all the stuff he needed for the rabbit box!  Saturday morning...I headed back to town for try #2 to find an Easter dress.  I found one.  I didn't love it but it would do!  After lunch...Emma & I headed to Emma Grace's 1st birthday party.  Since Justin was working on the rabbit box and wouldn't be going to the party...I decided to leave Evan with him and let him nap.  They had plans with Katie that afternoon and no-nap Evan is NO fun!! We had a great time at the party.  Kasey did such a great job on it.  It was supposed to be outside and the rain ruined that but thankfully everything still went really well.  We left and headed home.  My boss picked me and two other co-workers up and we headed to the Casting Crowns concert.  It was absolutely amazing!! I think it was probably one of the best concerts I have been too.  There is just something about an entire arena singing worship songs about God that will do your heart good!  I will definitely be going back!!  Laura Story is great too.  Colton Dickson wasn't my favorite.  His music sounded a lot like a rock concert...except that one song of his that I actually knew!  While we were gone...Katie came over and dyed Easter eggs with E&E and baked cookies.  Matt helped Justin with the rabbit box!  I think they ended up leaving at like 10:00...which was much later than they had planned.  What a great aunt Katie is!  Here are some pictures from all that that Katie sent me!

Egg dying at it's finest.  I love the look on Evan's face!!

And the final products.  They even had one with their name on it!!

Then...it was cookie time!!!
What big helpers they were!!

And the cookies were done!!

Let the decorating begin!!!

And the finished products!!

And the final pictures of the completed rabbit box.  I doubt this rabbit knew he was getting a mini hotel when he moved into the Turner household!!  Justin went above and beyond in making this house!!

Once I got home from the concert...which was like 11:00...Justin headed over to Aaron's to bring little Daisy to her new home.  She loves her new house but she had no idea that Evan & Emma would be meeting her the next day!!
Checking our her new home!!

I am not a fan of packed full days or last minute projects...but everything got done that needed to get done.  Now it was time for bed and getting ready to celebrate our Risen Savior!  Come back for Easter part #2!!!
