We have officially started t-ball. Our second practice was rained out and third practice went better than the first one did. Evan actually played and did what he was supposed to do!
Saturday was his first game. It did not go well! Evan wouldn't do anything. He was all ready Saturday morning and then we got to the game and he did nothing! All he would say is he was cold and he wanted to go home. He did hit one time but he didn't want to run the bases or anything else. But he sure looked cute!! I told Justin I took care of my part...he just needs to work on his part! Evan says he wants to keep playing so we will see if the next game goes better! Here are a couple pictures I took before the game!!
I wanted me a cute shirt to wear and since we have been making a big deal about Evan and all I wanted to do something special for Emma...so I got her a shirt too!! She was excited to wear her new shirt and support Evan. It was funny because all along I would tell Emma we were going to be the cheerleaders and Evan would tell us he didn't want us cheering for him. We could clap but that was all he would allow. He does not like attention!! He gets that from his momma!! Saturday night Lacey Pileggi had a surprise party for Jeremy! He turned the big 3-0!! The party was at Ashley Walker's and they had a big turnout!! Only thing was Jeremy was late to his own surprise party! He had been in Columbia with Jayden at the Sportsman event going on and then went by Sam & Kitty Stewart's house to shoot bows and they couldn't get him to leave. It was priceless to see his face when he pulled up though. I love a good surprise!! So, we had fun celebrating with them!! In other Turner news...the guy is coming tomorrow to start on our pool! With all this rain, they have tried to start three times and had to postpone it. So, looks like there will be no turning back after 2:00 tomorrow. With rain coming on Tuesday & Thursday...it looks like they will be pumping water out of this massive hole they are about to dig in our backyard!! Justin got out there on the bob cat this afternoon and got the last of the deck gone. He let E&E ride around with him and they loved it.
Our yard is going to be a t-total mess for a while. I have just already accepted that!! So, stay tuned for more t-ball updates and progress pictures of the pool!

8 years and counting...
Tuesday Justin and I will celebrate 8 years of marriage. This past February we celebrated 16 total years together. I can't believe I have put with him that long!! I joke and say things like that but I wouldn't trade him for anything!! He is my best friend and I thank God every day for him. He provides for us and always tries to do whatever I want. He may not love my ideas but he always goes along with them. He is a great daddy!! He genuinely loves our two kids and is one of the best daddy's I have ever been around!! I am so blessed to have him in my life!! After Evan's ball practice last week...we headed to Charleston for the weekend. My mom kept E&E Saturday afternoon and Katie kept them Saturday night. We had our 3rd Saturday outing with the Sunday school class so Katie & Matt took them and Laney. They are getting brave and venturing out with all three of them now!! They said E&E were good at the social and even took them by Connie Maxwell to see the animals when heading home. Apparently a llama looked in Evan's window. He was happy about that. Anyway...back to our trip. We got to Charleston about 4:00 and checked into the hotel. Next time we try to plan an event...we are going to check other events going on that weekend as well. We had an awful time finding a hotel because it was fashion week in Charleston that weekend and all the hotels were booked with people in town for that! Luckily I found us one. We headed down to board the boat about 6:15. The boat has tables for two only but when I signed us up...those were booked and we ended up sitting with an older couple there celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary. I was a little nervous how this would go but it was great!! They were the neatest couple and this lady sure had a great testimony. She had cancer many years ago that cause damage to her heart. So, she had a pacemaker, she was bad diabetic and even had to go give herself an insulin shot during the meal, she was deaf in her right ear and hard of hearing in her left ear. Two years ago, she was in hospice not expecting to live and here she sat in front of us alive and as well as could be. Her husband was so sweet to her. You could just tell he takes good care of her and was so patient and gentle with her. It was so encouraging to see and older couple who had been through some tough times still in love! She wants to go on a cruise but he said he was afraid to go that far with her by himself. They were originally from Pittsburgh but live in Myrtle Beach now. So, it was a fun night getting to know them and another couple that was right beside us. This other couple was celebrating two years of marriage. The girl was a dental hygienist and is fixing to start back to school to become a dentist and the guy was a personal banker!! They were a lot of fun too!! The food was DELICIOUS!!! I have never had a steak as good at the one I had that night!! Our dinner was a three course meal. We had she-crab soup, a salad...that was a little different than your normal salad, and then I had steak, horseradish potatoes that were really good!, and green beans. Justin had mahi-mahi and he said it was delicious too! As we were eating, you would see dolphins swimming by and it was just a neat night!! The weather actually turned out good. It was a little breezy up on the top after dinner but not bad! The last stop on the boat was the Ravenal bridge. It was so pretty to see at night all lit up. Our cruise ended about 9:30 and we headed back to the hotel. We had a great time celebrating our anniversary!!
We headed home Sunday morning. Katie & Matt braved public again and went to church with all three kiddos in tow! They even made the early service. After lunch at my moms and after Justin and I got home...we dyed Easter eggs! Evan was in heaven. He loves some eggs!! Justin took at couple pictures while Katie worked with the kids.
A couple pictures of us!!

Four words that really hurt...
I'm sure you are wondering where I've been in blogging world. We have still been fighting sickness! I have never in my life see such! I sure hope this warmer weather is here to stay and we can all get better...myself included! I'd rather fight the springtime battle with allergies than all the viruses and flu! So what have we been up to??? Well, the few times that we have actually left the house that didn't involve the doctors office or the hospital, were for some fun and exciting things! Evan started tball this past Saturday. He got up all ready Saturday morning. He got his glove and was throwing with Justin in the house. He has actually gotten a lot better at throwing and catching. He will actually turn his glove to try and catch the ball now rather than take the glove off like he had been doing to catch the ball. You have to know how to work Evan. He does NOT like praise or you to make on over him. Wonder who he gets that from?? So, you have to just let him work at his own pace and figure things out for himself. As soon as Justin Turner realized that...life got much easier. So, once we got to the ball field...Evan was frozen to Justin's side and wanted no part of tball. About 15 minutes before practice was over he warmed up and started participating. He hit a few times and ran the bases. I thought about getting my camera out Saturday morning and thought I'd get it later and never thought about it again...so my trusty cellphone pictures are all I have and I only have three of those. So here is our little River Cat at his tball practice.
After practice we had lunch and headed to Colby's Monster truck party! A guy they knew let them borrow a truck and ride the kids around in the field beside their house. The kids played and played for over two hours. That on top of tbball practice wore my two out! i tried taking a picture of them riding in the truck and this was the best I could get.
So, here it is Sunday afternoon. It's actually my moms birthday and we aren't getting to celebrate. My dad has been in the hospital since Friday with a virus and now my mom has it too. I'm just praying hard she doesn't get as sick as my dad did. No worries though...her present will keep until next weekend and we will get to celebrate soon!! Justin has taken Evan on his first fishing trip that involves a boat! I am super nervous about that but Evan was excited. He told me to stay home and he'd bring me a fish back. I sure hope he catches something!! I did snap one picture before they left.
My baby is getting so big!! And my other baby is snoozing away! She asked me to lay down with her this afternoon and even though I know it was a ploy to put off nap time a little longer...it was such a sweet time together this afternoon. I had my phone playing music in the hall as they went to sleep so we could hear it over the monitor. The house was all quiet and she was laying beside me and in her sweet little voice she started singing along with Laura Story's song "Blessings". I just laid there and cried listening not only to how big my baby sounded singing that song my sing but to hear her sing about Jesus is awesome! On our way to church this morning, about a mile before we got there...Evan realized we were going to church and asked..."Momma are we going to church?" When I said yes...he responded "I love church!" Oh how they make me so proud!! Our Sunday school series right now is Visionary Parenting and it is fabulous!! Today's lesson was on life at home. One thing Rob said was " who we are at home is who we really are". You know so many times we put on fronts in front of others to make ourselves seem perfect and then have a completely different look at home! I really want my attitude to be the same at home and everywhere I go. That leads me to my title "four words that hurt". Are you wondering what those words are??? They are " I want my daddy!" I know it sounds simple but when for so long all Emma and Evan ever wanted was me...those words hurt! I can't even begin to count the nights I sat here holding them both as we wound down from the day or had to carry them both because daddy just wouldn't do. Momma always made everything better and now Daddy is coming into the picture. I said hundreds of times that I just wish they'd just let Justin do something for them but I never really meant it. Don't get me wrong...I am so glad they love their daddy and more importantly that they have a dad that loves them unconditionally!! So, I am learning to adjust to the fact that I am not always going to be number one to them. I knew it was coming but it just hit me too fast! Now, the reason they want daddy is usually when mommy fusses at them but Evan was sick Friday and cried for Justin! Ouch!! All sick babies want their momma!! Anyway...we are just getting started on this parenting journey and I think I am in for a lot of surprises!! I would trade any of it though!! Hope y'all have a great week!!
