New adventures coming our way...

Well...it's been a while since I blogged!  Life has been a little busy and now to top it off we have added football season and hunting season!  Dove season starts Monday and bow season follows right after!  So, our life will be even more busy or rather...Daddy's life will be more busy!  So, what are the Turner's up too???  Well since we have been stuck at home for the last month with no school...we have been getting outside a lot trying to spend some of their energy!  I haven't really taken a lot of pictures but these are a few I wanted to share.
There are no words to describe Emma.  She loves for everything to match!  We were heading outside one afternoon and we even had to change her hair bow and panties so they would all be pink!  She is one styling little girl! Don't overlook the Mickey Mouse bracelet that we wear everyday!

She begs us regularly to let her wear this princess dress! And to have been someone who refused to let me put her hair in a pony tail...she loves it now!  And of course...she loves to wear a hat!  But notice the chalk all over her legs where she drew on herself!  I can't quite figure this girl out!  She sure is a cutie though!

On Monday nights while I am at bible study...Justin likes to take Emma & Evan with him to the woods.  This past Monday was no exception.  On my way there I get a call from Justin telling me I might want to come home as soon as bible study is over.  I immediately ask what is wrong and he calmly says...well Emma fell out of the golf cart and is crying for you.  So, I asked is she was saying anything hurt and he said no that only things she would say was her lip...that a brier caught her as she fell out.  My poor child was cut all up from that brier and it wasn't just her lip.  It was her face, her arm, and her leg!  It didn't affect her though...she still wants to go back with Daddy next time.
I think this picture was pre-falling out!

Emma & Evan will be starting to Building Blocks the week after we come back from vacation.  I have dreaded them not going to LE this year and I was really sad when all the other kids went back on Monday and mine didn't go...but I think this will work better for us right now.  I have changed my schedule again at work and between me & momma they won't have to stay there all day...which is a relief!  So, that will be a new adventure.   Speaking of new adventures...as the title hints...we are now sleeping in toddler beds!  Yes, I know I am crazy.  The cribs were still working for us but almost three year olds don't need to still be sleeping in cribs.  So, last night was our first night and night one didn't go well.  Emma did fine. She climbed right in and went to sleep.  Evan cried for a solid hour!  He didn't get out of the bed...he just stood there crying!  He was not a fan of his new bed.  We knew he wouldn't be though.  You should have seen the crying he did while Justin was changing it over.  So, after an hour of crying like that...Justin went and got him and rocked him in the den.  He actually just laid with him in the recliner and they both slept until Justin heard Emma hit the floor.  Yep...she rolled out of the bed.  He immediately ran to put Evan in his bed and scooped Emma up.  She laid right back down though and went back to sleep.  An hour later...we were snoozing away in our bed and here comes Evan into our room crying.  So, we just put him in our bed!  So, I was real skeptical of how nap time would go today.  Evan cried again as we put him in the bed, but he didn't get out.  About 5 minutes later he was out!  Emma went straight in her room and laid down. She loves her new bed!  So, here are our toddler beds!

As I mentioned...Thursday started college football season.  Of course we dressed for the occassion as we cheered on our Carolina Gamecocks.  We headed over to Alison's to watch the game with the crowd and even though the outcome of the game was HORRIBLE...we still had a great time socializing!  Here are my sweeties all dressed up and a picture of my sweet girl with my most precious niece!!

My most precious nephew was there too but he snoozed the whole time.  But I got to hold him the majority of that time...so it was okay!  Then, today Justin's tigers played so I had to dress them in their Clemson attire so Daddy would be happy!
I think they look much cuter in Garnet & Black though! :)

Our birthday party planning is in full swing!  Their presents from us arrived last week, I am ordering their Polar Express tickets that my mom & dad are giving them this week, we now have painting canvases, the food list has been made, outfits have been picked out & will be ordered soon, and the list goes on and on!  My mom is going to make part of Emma's outfit I think but she still has plenty of time.  So, we are really getting excited for our painting party!  And we are already praying for good weather!  I have also decided on their Halloween costumes I think.  They are going to be a cowboy and cowgirl.  Cute stuff!  Tomorrow night is the make-up fireworks in 96.  We are still debating on whether we want to attempt to go to that.  Emma HATES fireworks with a passion!  Evan doesn't love them either but he's nothing compared to Emma.  We may go to see everyone for a little while though. Then, we hope to have a cookout here as we celebrate Labor Day.  We can hopefully go swimming one more time Monday before we close it up for the winter.  We are looking into getting us an in-ground pool next summer.  Not sure if that will work out or not...but I get excited thinking about it!  Then, we leave for vacation next weekend!  So, we have a busy few weeks ahead of us!  Come back for a glimpse of our first family vacation with 4 kids!  Yikes!  Have a great weekend & holiday!!

Fun, Fun, & More Fun...

Well, the weekend has already come to an end.  Boy are we tired but it sure was a fun one.  As soon as I got off work on Friday, I ran home grabbed Emma & Evan, raced back to Greenwood, picked up Katie, and headed to Simpsonville.  I had hoped to get off early so we could leave at 11:00 but that didn't happen.  Regardless...we ate lunch at Chick-Fil-A and headed to the waterpark.  It was the neatest little place.  There were lots of people there including several people from Greenwood that we knew.  We started with the lazy river and then went over to the kiddie part.  Emma & Evan weren't thrilled at first because wherever you go over there you are constantly getting sprayed.  They finally warmed up.  They never did attempt any of the slides.  There were lots of kids and I think that intimidated them.  We definitely have plans to go back next year.  This was the last week they are open for the summer.  Here are the few pictures I took.
Heading to the water park!

The kiddie zone!

All four of us ready to play!

Taking a little break to wash the water out of our faces!

And look what Friday just happened to be!  Of course we got one!!  YUM!!!

So, we left about 4:00 to head home.  Emma & Evan were supposed to be at the church at 6:00 for Parent's Night Out!  We dropped Katie off at 5:25.  That gave me 35 minutes to get all the way back to 96...change all of our clothes, pick Justin up, and get back to church.  Needless to say it was about 6:15 when we dropped them off but that was pretty good timing!  Justin and I had a date night.  We had planned to go to J Peter's a new restaurant in town but since I didn't have time to take a shower and get ready...we ended up at Chili's and Wal-Mart.  It was a fun night regardless!  Then, Saturday we went out to spend the evening at Alison and Nick's.  We did a little fishing and had supper.  Here are the few pictures I took out there!

All loaded up waiting on Nick and I got to hold the sweet little fella!  I was trying to hold him and take his picture is why this picture is so up close!  I just love this little boy!  He's so sweet and cuddly!

My big boy caught his first fish all by himself!  Justin threw the line out.   He reeled it in and there was a fish on it!  He was so proud of himself.  And of course my little princess just danced around and watched!  She did actually reel in a fish too though!

Nick and Katie trying to convince Evan to hold the fish!  He wanted too but just couldn't quite get up his nerve!

They did finally talk him into holding the fin of a fish!

He had no problems with the worms though!

Emma didn't mind the fake ones!

So, we had a great night.  So, today we headed to church and over to momma's for lunch.  Then, we all came home and took a nap!  Justin and I had plans but we took a nap along with Emma & Evan instead.  Love a lazy Sunday afternoon.  So, I have two more pictures to share and that will be it for this blog update.  My grandpa had this one gun that was the first gun he ever had.  He had saved it for his first grandson since he only had a daughter.  Then, along came us three girls so he then saved it for his first great grandson!  So, before he died he told my dad he wanted Evan to have this gun.  My dad cleaned it up and got it all ready for Evan and decided to give it to him a couple weekends ago.  Now of course it will be a while before he shoots it but he was sure excited to hold it.  Justin got himself a new gun too that same week...so it was only fitting to take a picture.  This gun isn't worth very much and to most it won't mean a thing...but to Evan it will be a special gift from his great-grandpa!

Oh how I wish Papa was here to see him.  He would be so proud of Evan!  He would love his love for animals and for pie!  I just hope Evan becomes half the man my sweet grandpa was!  And I have to share this picture of my little southern girl!  She loves her jewelry, she loves her shoes, she loves her hats, and she loves to ride a tractor!  Doesn't get any better than this!

We are so blessed to call these two kids ours!  Life is crazy most days, sleep is something we never do anymore...but it's our life and this is Our Faithful Journey!!

So many questions this side of Heaven...

As I was sitting here by myself on this Tuesday night, Justin is at bible study and my sweet little ones are in their beds going to sleep, I've had just a few minutes to think about things and thought some of my thoughts were blog worthy...so here it is!  I don't watch the news anymore and if it isn't talked about in the accounting department at Davis & Floyd...I don't usually know what is going on in this world.  Plus, all my co-workers are 55 and older so their topics of interest on the news and my topics of interest aren't normally the same.  However...they do keep me somewhat informed.  It is hard to know what's going on in the world when all you watch is Barney, Charlotte's Web, Super Buddies, Brother Bear, The Blue Elephant...or any other kid movie on Netflix!  I wouldn't have it any other way though.  So, I'm sure by now...everyone has heard the tragic news of Robin Williams committing suicide.  I can't seem to grasp how anyone in life can be that desperate for an ending.  How can someone who has spent the majority of his life trying to bring joy and entertainment to so many be so sad??  How can someone who is so wealthy and probably had the best things in life be so empty??  I didn't know he had battled with addictions for a part of his life.  I guess I probably should have because that tends to be the norm for "Hollywood".  It just goes to show that wealth and fame aren't the things to long for in this world.  You can have the best clothes, or the nicest car, or the fanciest house...but all those things aren't going to bring you happiness!  They may for a while but then it just turns to more want!  It also just goes to show you never know what other people in this world are dealing with.  Just last week, a co-workers of mine's 29 year old cousin also took his life.  He was a graduate of North Greenville University.  He was married with an 18 month old son.  He worked for CPW, helped his father-in-law in his heating and cooling business, was a volunteer fireman, and also worked at the local YMCA.  He talked with his mom and dad everyday and was very close to his brother...even though he lives in another state.  Nothing in his life would have raised a flag that he was even considering this.  It happened on a Friday afternoon.  He had spoken with his mom and dad earlier and acted like everything was normal.  He told his boss that he needed to leave work early for a family emergency.  His wife had been at her mom's visiting that day with her sister and her sister's child.  She pulled in their driveway and heard the gun go off in the back yard.  Patsy, my co-worker, went to his parents house on Saturday and said all either of his parents would say is "Why didn't he talk to us?"  "What was so bad that he thought this was the only way out?"  I'm not even sure what you say to someone in this situation.  Is there hope for someone who commits suicide to go to Heaven??  I have always thought no that if you committed suicide there was no chance of heaven...until a message Jason preached years ago when a young girl in high school committed suicide.  Or maybe it was when Wade Burton, a lifelong follower of Christ, tried to overdose.  Either way...it was a message that had stuck with me.  He asked if we believed that one sinful act was enough to keep us out of heaven.  Of course it isn't or none of us would ever make it there.  There was only one perfect person to ever walk this earth!  So, that also brought up the question of well if you commit suicide you don't have a chance to ask for forgiveness of this sin.  But, how many of us sin everyday and don't ask for forgiveness right away?  What if something happened to us driving home... would that one sin we committed earlier in the day that we hadn't asked God's forgiveness for yet keep us from Heaven??  I don't believe so.  Now, what I do believe is that Christian's still sin, hopefully not to the extent of non-believers, but I believe God looks at your life as a whole.  What if Wade Burton's attempt had been successful??  Would all those years of preaching and drawing others to Christ be worthless because while he was at such a low point in his life, he made a bad decision?  I can't help but think no...that isn't how God works!  He is a loving God who forgives us and knows we don't always make the right choice.  Thank goodness we don't or what would we need Him for??    So, I do believe their is hope for some who make a permanent decision to what was probably a temporary problem.  I do believe Christians make mistakes too but if you are living like you should and doing the things God has called you to do that one bad decision isn't going to keep you out of Heaven!  There are so many questions we have that we would love for God to answer.  But...I heard someone say just last week...but when we get to Heaven those questions probably won't even matter anymore!  So, that is just my random rambling for this Tuesday night.  I just hope you all are living for Christ and trying to bring glory and honor to Him in all you say and do!  But I also hope you have reassurance that God knows we are going to make mistakes...but He often uses our mistakes for good!  Have a great night!

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Well, I wish I had a fun update to post about but our past few weeks have been boring.  We have cleaned out and cleaned up our house.  It was MUCH needed!!  Two weekends ago...I started on Friday afternoon and took every single thing out of every closet in this house.  I threw away & donated over 12 bags of stuff!  Katie & Alison both got tubs full of baby stuff that I no longer need!  It felt great!  I love to clean out and organize.  I even cleaned out our refrigerator, freezer, and pantry!  I was in a cleaning mood!! I even rearranged furniture in our room and Emma's room.  Justin wasn't thrilled with helping me clean but he did.  It was raining all weekend anyway...so what else was he going to do??  We did stop Saturday night to head over to some friends house for supper and to let the kids play.  The kids had all been talking about playing with each other so it was a much needed break for us all!   Before we left our house that afternoon Justin, Emma, & Evan had a little golf lesson.  We were just glad to see the outdoors!

Then, this past week was a busy one as well.  We had a tree in our back yard that was obviously dead...so it had to come down along with another tree right next too it.  I think Justin just wanted to be destructive and take down both trees but he swears it needed to come down too.  So...that has been a mess trying to cut them both up and get that cleaned up.  It is a work in progress though.  Evan has sure had fun climbing in the trees!

We went to Switcharoo's on Thursday and got a lot of good deals on things for Emma & Evan for the Fall.  I love to shop with things only cost a couple dollars.  Momma, Alison, & baby Reid went along on this trip!  It was a fun morning.  Then, this week/weekend we continued our cleaning.  I decided to re-do Emma & Evan's bathroom...so I  we painted it and got new decor.  The sink that was in that bathroom when we bought the house was navy blue with a white cabinet.  I have been wanting to replace it and we just never have.  So instead of getting rid of it...I decided to just use it to decorate.  Their new bathroom is navy and green and it looks good if I must say so myself.  I painted all the trim work Friday night at about 10 pm and Justin rolled the walls for me Saturday afternoon. We make a good team.  My mom has finished Emma's bed skirt and pillow for her new bed and is working on Evan's bed skirt and his curtains. Once those are finished...we are changing over to the toddler beds.  Why don't you start praying with us now!! :)  We go to tour Lifetime Discoveries tomorrow.  I am not excited about moving my sweeties from Learning Express but for the time being...we don't have much choice!  I've heard lots of good things about Lifetime and we know several people who's kids go here so I'm sure it will be fine.  It's just change and with my kids...I don't love change!  So, I'll have to let you know how that goes.  Then, Friday...we are heading to the water park in Simpsonville.  I just pray we have a pretty day.  Katie is going with me.  That is one of the last things we have on our Summer Fun checklist.  Then, we have a parent's night our Friday night.  We get to drop the kids off at church from 6-8:30...so we are looking forward to a date night.  That should pretty much be our week!  Hopefully we can have some fun relaxing weekends now that most of the dirty work around here is done! Have a great week!!
