What a week...

Well, here it is Friday afternoon and I seriously don't know where this week went!!  I knew it was going to be busy but whew!! Monday night was bible study and it was one of the best we've ever had.  It wasn't over until 10:30...and it started at 6:30!  Debbie Crittendon came and reviewed over the Disciple Cycle with us and then talked about safeguarding our marriages!  This message was exactly what some of the girls there needed to hear.  Don't you just love when God shows up at exactly the right time???  Anyway...Tuesday was the well overdue color/haircut!  Sally did a good job I think!  I haven't had this much blonde in a while...but summer will be here soon so I might at well go ahead.  The blonde will show up during summer whether I want it or not! :)  Wednesday was a crazy day at work.  We have been going through a leadership training with surveys and all kinds of things and it finally came to an end Wednesday with our big group meeting and Thursday with our individual meetings!  I definitely learned a lot about myself and my personality type!  Thursday afternoon me & momma headed to Gaffney shopping after work.  I spent all my money well before we ran out of shopping time!  I needed some new clothes BAD and I still need more...but this will be a start.  So, like I said...here is it Friday!  Finally a time to relax.  I feel like I haven't seen E&E all week.  I am so thankful to have such a good hubby who is willing to take care of our munchkins so I can enjoy doing some things by myself.   So, other than that...what's going on with Turner's...you may ask!  Well....Charlie & Barney, our fish, have both died! Yes, I named them and Justin didn't like their names...but he didn't come up with anything better.  Charlie didn't even make it a week and Barney might have lasted a week and a half.  We don't know whether it was the water wasn't right or they weren't eating.  Either way...no more fish!  We think we might go to Pet Smart for our next fish!  We didn't have good luck with Wal-Mart fish!  We are in the midst of planning our Spring family outing.  A friend of ours mentioned to me about taking her little girl to the Atlanta Aquarium and the Atlanta Zoo last year.  So,that is what we are planning to do the first weekend in May.  March's weekend are already full with momma's birthday, the Nascar racing thing in Charlotte we got the boys for Christmas, Alison's reveal party/ Daddy's birthday, and our anniversary.  Then of course...April weekends are off limits due to Turkey hunting...so looks like it will be May before we get to Atlanta.  We are planning to go to the Aquarium on Friday afternoon as long as we can schedule in the dolphin show and the Zoo the next Saturday morning.  Kayla even recommended hotels for us to stay at.  Plus...the Riverbanks Zoo passes Justin's mom gave us for Christmas will get us a discount for the Atlanta Zoo.  Emma & Evan will still get in free to both places because they are under three!   Doesn't that sound like a fun little get away for us???  I think so and am SO excited about it!!  In other news...our home renovation projects will be getting underway in a few weeks.  For those of you that have ever been to our house...know we have two sets of french doors in our den leading out onto the deck.  However these are the smallest doors EVER and don't make much sense at all.  So, those are coming out and one normal size French door is going in.  Then, we are getting new hardwood floors.  The flooring in our house looks like hardwood floors but they are a laminate that hasn't held up well at all!  That was the one project we wanted to do right after we moved in but we got Emma & Evan instead! :)  I've been on Pinterst a little too much and have found Justin a few other little projects I want him to complete around the house.  First, is painting the kitchen again.  Yes...that will be the third time in 3 years but look at the picture below.

Granted my kitchen looks nothing like this other than the white cabinets and darker counter tops.  However...with our new flooring, hopefully adding recessed lighting like this if Justin can do it, and painting this color...it will be similar.  This is the look I am going for anyway! :)  And...since we will be working on our yard this spring too...I have found this little picture on Pinterest too...
Now...this is a traditional home in Georgia!  BUT...I think I can make my front porch look like this one.  We have a door very similar other than the windows on the top.  So, if Justin can add me some lights beside the door and lets me paint the wood flooring and I get me some planters to look like this...I think this is a doable project too! Justin wants me to stay off Pinterest! However...he had agreed to look into all my projects...so that is pretty promising!!  W have lots of work to do around here and I have to get to cleaning right now or nap time will be over!  Hope you all enjoy your weekend!!

A quick little update...

Life is finally settling back into a routine!  We actually went to school all week last week.  No snow, no sickness, and it was nice to be back in a routine.  We got long overdue haircuts on Thursday and this momma has a long overdue appointment this coming Tuesday.  YAY!!!  Colby's 2nd birthday party was this weekend.  It was at the Fire Department and she had Max & Jack (Lauren's aunts dogs) there...so Evan was pretty happy.  Neither him or Emma liked the fire truck at first but once they warmed up...they didn't want to get off.  Of course once Max & Jack got to the party Evan followed them around the whole time.  We are planning to get him a puppy for Christmas...if we can wait that long!  It was a super cute party.  I only took 2 pictures but here they are...

I feel like I never have pictures of Emma but she never wants to do anything and she is usually on my hip...so that is why most of the time she isn't in any of my pictures.  Don't worry though...she gets plenty of attention!! After the party, we headed home for naps and I headed to Hobby Lobby!  Jillian had found these pillow covers at Hobby Lobby and I wanted to make one for my bedroom.  I got a new bed spread a couple weeks back and it is all brown...so I need some colored pillows!  I also got the stuff to make a burlap wreath.  That is still sitting in my kitchen because Katie forgot what to do and I have no clue...so she is going to figure it out and then help me make my wreath.  However...here is my pillow.  How cute???
After nap time...while Katie was working on my wreath, Justin & Evan headed to Charlie B's to watch a fish tournament weigh in.   After they came back home...we all headed outside to play for a while!  Today after lunch we FINALLY took Evan to see Chubby's donkey's & goats.  He was in Heaven again.  This kid LOVES any kind of animal.  He kept petting the donkey and even tried to kiss it.  He definitely gets that love for animals from his great-grandpa.  My PaPa would have loved him!!  Every time he talks about cows it makes me a little sad that my grandpa will never get to see him.  I'm sure he is watching him from above though!  Anyway...hope you guys have a great week!

Valentine's Day!!

We have officially been celebrating Valentine's Day for 5 days now!  This is like the never ending holiday!!  Well, since Friday was the actual holiday and we were STUCK inside all week...we didn't have an presents for Emma & Evan on Friday.  We made a trip to Wal-Mart Friday night and it was a nightmare!  The place was packed!!  Thankfully, we got what we wanted plus a little extras and headed home out of that craziness in Greenwood!  Saturday morning when E&E got up...we had everything set up.  They each got a fish and the accessories that go with it, goldfish snacks, the "Finding Nemo" movie, some new markers and a kite!  Okay, the markers and kites weren't on the Valentine list...but since I saw them...I had to get them.  Last year at the beach a girl had a kite and E&E were amazed by it.  Now...they have their own.  Windy March will be here soon!   Here are a couple pictures.

They love their fish.  We feed them twice a day and they get to help!  Sunday, they got some books from Aunt Katie & Aunt Alison.  MaMa & PaPa gave them a new cd player, cd's, and a few movies.  Don't let me for get the candy!  Monday we celebrated with a Valentine party at school.  They got to wear their new shirts mommy made them!  Are they cuties or what??

These were our little Valentines for our classmates.  The tag says "Bear Hugs" from Emma & Evan and it is a bag of teddy grahams.  They were CUTE...or at least I thought they were.

I think they had a good time at this party.  I had signed up to help with the party today...so I had to take fruit, cheese, & chick nuggets.  We only had 6 there.  Two had to go home for various reasons.  These were the only two pictures I could get.

Hope you all had a good Valentine's day!!  Oh yeah...what about he earthquake???  Justin and I were standing in our bathroom talking when it happened.  We just kind of stood there while the shaking was going on.  After it was over, he threw me out of the way and headed for Emma & Evan's rooms.  He thought a car had hit our house.  Once we realized they were okay...he headed outside.  His next thought was another tree had fallen in our back yard since they ground was so soggy.  I decided to look at Facebook while he was outside gallivanting around and the first post I saw was from Ashley in Union asking what they heck that was that caused her house to shake.  I knew if it was felt in Greenwood and in Union...it had to be an earthquake.  Emma & Evan slept through the whole thing.  Cody never once barked.  If I hadn't felt it myself...I wouldn't believe anything was going on around here.  We missed the second on on Sunday.  I think we were asleep at that time taking us a nap!  It's crazy the weather we are having around here.

Snow Day #2...

Well...it's still snowing or sleeting here!!  We haven't had this much snow in forever!!  This morning we had over 3 inches.  I am will to bet by now it is close to 5 inches.  So, how did we spend this day???  We got up and ate breakfast.  We had put two bowls out yesterday morning to make us some snow ice cream but I forgot to bring them in before I left for work and the snow was nothing but slush when we got home.  So, Justin just dumped them out and left the bowls out on the deck.  Good thing because we had two bowls full this morning. So, we made our snow ice cream.  I let them taste a little but we put it in the freezer for later on.
Here we are working on the snow ice cream.  Then, we suited up and headed outside!
Our home sweet home all covered in  snow!!
We had to check on "Frosty"...he was still standing!

Then, we tried to make snowballs.  Emma & Evan didn't do too well.  The snow was so soft and fluffy you really had to work to make it stick.  Daddy managed though and threw a couple at us!  Then, he got out the 4-wheeler.  He rode Emma around a little in the back yard.  She was okay with it but not a huge fan.  Evan loved it!  He decided to take Evan to the drive way and do donuts!  Evan was screaming "wheee" the whole time.  I was not a fan of this but I was REALLY not a fan when he decided to take him up on the main highway in front of the house and continue this little adventure!  That was my baby he had on that 4-wheeler slinging him around!  Once they finally came back and Evan got off, he constantly said "I do donuts"! He was a fan of the adventurous little outing!

And then of course...my big kid had to play by himself!  He is such a big kid at heart!!  After all this excitement we headed back inside to warm up.  We brought out the snow ice cream.  It had to warm up a little before we could really eat it.  They loved it though.

So, while I was fixing lunch, I happened to look outside and there was a bird inside my lamp post.  How he got in there I have no clue.  So, Justin went out to rescue him.  Since he had to grab him anyway...he brought him up for Emma and Evan to see.  Emma wasn't a fan...but Evan loved him.  He is such an animal lover!!  The bird is kind of hard to see because it matched Justin's gloves.

So, we headed back outside after lunchtime.  We were going to try and make a trip to MaMa & PaPa's on the 4-wheeler and we made it to the Ward's house before Emma started pitching a fit...so we turned around.  Evan and Daddy rode around some more doing more donuts.  By now it was just sleeting and no more snow.  Hints why Evan is now wearing a ski mask!
So, after this we headed in for naps.   Once they got up we decided to make the trip to my parents after all but we took the truck instead.  It was much warmer.  That was the end of our time outside today.  My work is closed again tomorrow and I would be really surprised if Justin has to go in.  No worries though...there won't be a Snow Day #3 on the blog.  But Valentine's is coming up!  I made their classmates gifts today.  I doubt they will have school on Friday but whenever we get to celebrate...our gifts are ready!  Speaking of gifts...we don't have Emma & Evan's gift yet.  Our plan was to get their fish on Thursday after work and have everything set up Friday morning when they woke up.  Those plans have failed.  We do have the "Finding Nemo" movie and they gold fish snacks...so they may just get that with a picture of a fish!  We'll figure something out.  Safe safe out there and stay warm!! :)

It's snowing again...

Well...the forecast was right.  We woke up this morning to a white yard!  Justin went on into work but I stayed home with E&E until 11:00.  When they got up, I brought each of them in the den and showed them the snow.  They both said "Snow" and went on to something else.  They weren't very impressed.  It was beautiful though.  It snowed most of the morning.  Here are the two of them looking out at the snow while I was getting breakfast ready.

Then, after breakfast, we went in the den to watch a movie.  Can you guess which one???  Yep...101 Dalmatians.  It is becoming a toss up between that and Cinderella right now.  We will be glad when "Finding Nemo" gets here on Friday so we might can watch something new for a while!  Emma went in Evan's room and was playing or I thought she was playing.  This is how she looked when she returned to the den..
I think she was ready to play in the snow.  This girl LOVES her hat, gloves, & shoes.  Then, she proceeded to bring Evan his hat and he actually put it on.  Here were are watching the movie all ready for the cold weather!!

Please notice in the above picture that Emma is wearing Evan's shoes.  She went in his room got them out of his closet and wore them all morning.  So, I headed into work about 11:00 and momma came over to keep them.  Me & Justin both got home about 3:30 and we bundled them up to go outside and play.  Here are a couple pictures from our time in the snow!!
And they were off to play in the snow.  I had them so bundled up Evan couldn't even hardly bend his knees.  They didn't get cold though.

Evan tried to ride his tractor but it kept getting stuck...so that didn't last long!

Our house covered in snow.  With my Let It Snow flag...after this I think I am going to put it up.  We've had enough snow!

 The start of our snowman...

 Evan helping roll the snowman!

And our finished product.  We tried to get them to name the snowman...but they wouldn't so I named him Frosty.  So original I know!  Justin cooked us pancakes for supper and they were yummy!  He is awesome at cooking pancakes!!  Then, we finished our night with bubble bath.  My two love bubbles and MaMa gave them bubble bath as part of their Valentine's.  So, they played for probably 30 minutes in the bathtub!  They are now in the bed and Justin is watching Clemson basketball.  So, I am going to pop me some popcorn and add some M&M's and watch TV with my hubby.  My work is closed tomorrow and I am hoping Justin's is too.  That way we get to spend the day here doing nothing!!  Hope you all got to enjoy the snow!

A little Spring teaser...

Was this a BEAUTIFUL weekend or what???  I am READY for SpRiNg!! :)  Well, we made it one whole week at school.  Haven't done that in a while.  From the weather forecast...we might get some more snow this week.  I love snow and all but I am not wanting anymore of it.  It just causes too much of a headache trying to figure out what to do with E&E during it all...because D&F & Eaton don't shut down for snow!  Anyway...back to last week.  I went to Switcharoo's again this year.  I didn't buy as much because last year I bought tons of things and we just never wore then all.  Then, they didn't really have much for Evan's size...so good thing I wasn't buying that much anyway.  The 2T girls rack was twice as long as the boys was and it was so packed that I couldn't even scoot the clothes down to really look at them.  Actually the 24 month & 2T for the boys was the same rack and it was still half the size of the girls.  I know there are lots of cute girl things...but boys need clothes too.  I guess I am too picky about what Evan wears.  He'll appreciate that one day.  So, here are our finds of the day...

These are Emma's clothes.  I got a couple things that I can monogram and make even cuter!! :)
And this is Evan's!!

Each of them also got a pair of shoes (Evan's-crocs & Emma- gold sandles) and a bathing suit.  I also found Emma a little white dress exactly like what I have been wanting.  I am having Trinity Street do a portrait of each of them in April and I have in my mind what I want them to wear.  I couldn't believe I found it at a consignment sale for $15 and it looks brand new.  Score me!!  Won't my sweet pea look perfect in this little dress??

Now...I just have to work on finding Evan what I want him to wear!! Well, that was Thursday.  Friday night...Justin and I went on a long over due date night.  Katie, Matt, & Alison kept Emma & Evan for us.  We actually went to supper at Outback and to a movie.  I was nice and let Justin pick the movie.  He chose 'Lone Survivor" and I was not a fan.  The language was AWFUL and it was too realistic.  It is based on a true story and there is no way you can watch that and not be grateful to what our service men are doing to keep us safe and free.  The ending showed a the tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives in this mission and I seriously was just sitting there crying.  Next time we are watching a chick flick and he better not say a word!! :)  While in the movies I got this picture from Matt.  No wonder they love Katie, Matt, & Alison...they gave them ice cream.
You can tell from the picture that they are digging in!  Katie said they were so good for them.  I am so glad Emma & Evan have two aunts who love them so.  We can't wait to love on their precious children one day soon!!  Saturday, it was so nice that we decided to spend the morning outside playing.  They haven't been on their swing set in months...so they really enjoyed sliding, swinging. jumping on the trampoline, helping Daddy rake leaves, riding his tractor (Evan) and riding her tricycle (Emma).  I forgot to mention that Evan loves his tractor now and Emma's car for that matter too.  He still hasn't mastered the steering so he runs into a lot of things...but he's getting the hang of it.  Emma is still terrified of the tractor and her car but she is getting really good at riding her tricycle.  The first day Evan decided to ride his tractor she followed him around the whole yard hanging on to the trailer.  I tried to get her to sit on the trailer and let Evan pull her around this yard...but that wasn't happening. The video is too cute.  I don't really blame her for not trusting Evan's driving just yet!!   Then, we went for a golf cart ride down behind the house.  Two weekends ago Justin brought the tractor over and cut some roads back there.  I can so see Evan in the future riding 4-wheeler's back through those roads.  That is one memory I have of going to Melissa Goldman's house when we were younger.  She had the same thing behind her house and it was so much fun riding back there  Here are a couple pictures I took of our morning outside!

Today, we went to church, celebrated Justin's step-grandma's 80th birthday, and we all took a 3 hour nap.  That was a good day!  Hope you guys have a great week and if we happen to get more snow...the camera is charged and this momma is ready!  Until next time..
